ECP orders govt to print LG ballots


Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has dismissed government’s apology and ordered it to get the printing of ballot papers done within the stipulated time.
The electoral body ordered the government on Thursday to ensure the printing of ballot papers for the elections. The orders were signed by the four members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The orders have also been sent to the cabinet secretary who had apologized, expressing inability to implement the ECP instructions.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also said Thursday (today), during his visit to the ECP, that it was not possible to complete the process of printing of ballot papers within 20-25 days.
Earlier, on Thursday, National Assembly of Pakistan had passed a unanimous resolution to delay local government polls in the country.
