Lahore: Sunni Ittehad Council – body of clerics which believed that Taliban’s concept of arm struggle is wrong – has accepted the debate challenge extended by Taliban’s spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid.
Sunni Ittehad Council’s Chairman Sajzada Hamid Raza announced on Tuesday that Taliban can have the debate at any channel.
He also said that “Armed struggle against an Islamic state is not a right thing. Taliban should accept the constitution of Pakistan.” He also urged national leadership to get united against US drone attacks and to block NATO supplies.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)’s spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid had challenged the clerics on Monday and claimed that if Taliban lost the debate then all militancy would be put to an end.
